    OCR-A used in three-dimensional letters on a hotel sign in Pammukale, Turkey. Produced by ATF in 1968 to meet the criteria set by the U.S. Bureau of Standards, the monospaced OCR-A was one of the first typefaces designed for optical character recognition.
