The second year of the international “summit celebrating inspiring design, development and positive impact on quality of life in cities” with our visuals has the subtitle Accommodate. It asks what it means to be a better city when “gentrification and rising costs of living pose considerable challenges for city leaders, investors, planners and architects to design a city that works for everyone”. The heart of the city, which was taken over by nature last year, got under the knife now, cut into floors and occupied by inhabitants. The futuristic vision somewhere between Zaha Hadid and Jan Kaplický’s Future Sytems together with the American optimistic energy of the organizers turned happy even the usually melancholic illustrations by Jan Šrámek. The over-the-moon Utopia of a merry planet with acrobats and magpies reminds us of our lopsided situation.
