Poster for a hybrid memoir that moves between prose poetry, memoir, and philosophical meditation, and has at its center an extended rumination on loss, memory, narrative, knowledge and family secrets.
Scholar Leslie Morris’s work grapples with the twin mysteries of her buried family history and the unexplained coma she fell into not long after discovering the existence of immediate relatives she never knew existed. The book’s experimental form uses (and erases) the text of her 1500 page medical file to explore the voids and omissions inherent to memory and language.
