Protz Studio business cards

In their case study, Smith & Diction discuss the origin and inspiration of the custom letterforms used for the logo:
[…] the R is based on some typography from Othmar Motter [i.e. Motter Ombra, 1972] to give it that transient, not old but not quite new vibe.
The font used on the website of Protz Studio is Zilla Slab. I don’t think it can be dismissed as (just another) Google font, which seems to be imply an uninspired, ubiquitous choice, maybe even a certain mediocrity in terms of originality and quality. Zilla Slab is a typeface family designed by Typotheque for Mozilla and released in 2017. It’s a solid and fresh choice and it doesn’t strike me as being overused. Any font that is made available under the SIL Open Font License can be hosted by Google—and by anyone else. In other words, it’s a Typotheque font, not a Google font.
