Balthazar is an optician in Aix-en-Provence. Their identity was designed by Simon Piu who chose Cooper Black as display font and Quicksand as body font. Both fonts are very round, evoking friendliness and affordability. The chosen colours embody the idea of “Made in France”.

The contrast between the bold Cooper Black and the very thin Quicksand is very close to the contrast between Cooper Black and Helvetica in the Dalí posters for the French railway, especially in the logo where “Aix-en-Provence” is written in all-caps.
