Hey, Halyard found its way over to Germany! This is Halyard Display, used for a billboard advertising the new Astor Film Lounge at the ARRI cinema, spotted in the Munich subway. In his review for Typographica’s Favorite Typefaces of 2017, Ellmer Stefan describes it as “a nonchalant mix of the American and European idioms — Gothic, Grotesque, and Neo-Grotesque influences alike. […] The uppercase R and Q will surely stop you in your tracks.” It was indeed the R (and the surprisingly pointy exclamation mark) what had caught my eye.
