  1. I’m not sold on the Filmotype ID. The contrast/weight of the thin parts in AMN isn’t quite right, compared to the digitization of Marlette and also to the one-line specimen shown below. Also, in the Use, the middle bar in E is shorter. With the Filmotype machine, one couldn’t stretch letterforms, and Marlette & co. weren’t included in the fonts copied by VGC for the Typositor (which enabled such stretching).

    I’ve added “uncertain typeface ID” for “UNCERTAIN STOMACH”.

  2. The font on the first picture looks similar to Filmotype Fairbanks, but it’s probably something else instead.

    Could the second picture be using a weight of Fiedler Gothic instead? The S seems to suggest as much.
