Poster and photo book for California Golde, a short movie about riding bikes in California and all the hardships that come with big, hard, ambitious tours, designed by Austin-based design studio LAND.
On his site, the movie’s filmer/director Sandy Carson refers to his movie as “California (G)Olde”, “California Gölde” and “California Golde”. The movie logo uses Reklame Kursiv, a late 1800s unconnected cursive typeface that, like this movie, lived under different names. The digitised version used here is named Patent Reclame and available from HiH.
The credits on the movie poster are a mix of Arial and Tall, Dark And Handsome – a condensed freebie with some amateur charme. It also comes with poor punctuation marks as shown especially in the credits on the top of the movie poster (in combination with faux small caps).
