Jacket design for Howard Hibbard’s Michelangelo monograph. For the type, Gerald Cinamon chose Hess Neobold. With the bold compact forms of this all-caps face, the title can additionally serve as separator between the painting – a detail from The Last Judgment – and the lower part with the bronze bust by Daniele di Volterra.

The same jacket was also used for the first US edition by Harper & Row, Icon Editions, 1974.
