A tricolore Indigo on the cover for “Slag Solution”, the only release credited to europop act Gemello Twins, issued in 1973 in French label Credit Music. The Baby Teeth-like face came in six variants with different pattern fills. It was designed around 1972 by Andy Song alias André Chante for Hollenstein, Paris. On this 7″ sleeve, it’s paired with caps from Flyer. Printed by Graphicolor, Nanterre.

Tyggis is a digital interpretation of André Chante (the same designer of the 1972 font)'s moiré-styled typeface made circa 1967–69.

It looks like Fargo is being used instead of Flyer.
You’re not wrong, Bryson. The letterforms are indeed narrower than Filmotype’s original Flyer. On the other hand, it’s unlikely that this cover was set on a Filmotype, a machine that was mainly used in North America in the 1950s and 1960s. Given that this from France in 1973, we’re probably looking at film fonts by Hollenstein (Indigo was an exclusive by this phototype firm). These could be optically condensed or extended by the means of lenses, something that was not possible on the original Filmotype. Furthermore, a Hollenstein catalog from 1974 lists Flyer, but not Fargo. I’m inclined to say it’s Flyer, condensed (read: squeezed). And yes, that’s virtually the same as Fargo. What complicates the matter is that some type providers like Face Photosetting or Typeshop offered various widths all under the Flyer name (Flyer, Flyer Condensed, etc.) Maybe we should merge the typeface entries.
