Johnny Moped was a proto-punk band from London. Established in 1974 as Johnny Moped and the 5 Arrogant Superstars, the band swapped its name two more times before settling on Johnny Moped until the group split up in 1978 shortly after releasing their debut album Cycledelic.
“No One” / “Incendiary Device” (1977) was their debut single, released on Chiswick Records.
Photography by Peter “Kodick” Gravelle. Both cover and back cover pair a black and white photograph of the band performing, with all caps Gill Kayo, the loudest member of the Gill Sans type family, using a likewise loud color scheme.

Johnny Moped’s raw album art seems to refer to Elvis Presley’s debut album cover (1956), pre-dating the more direct and more famous imitation that pop/punk band The Clash would make of the same album cover for their London Calling album (1979).
