Mick Jagger – “Memo From Turner” singe cover

Single for the German market, taken from from the soundtrack to the film Performance. “Memo From Turner” was written by Jagger and Richards. Almost all instrumentation is provided by Steve Winwood. The track was later used in Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas.

“Mick Jagger” is set in the combined Shadow and Solid styles of Anonymous, a photo typeface of unclear origin. This single record design is the earliest use of Anonymous currently documented on Fonts In Use.

The song title seems to be set in the solid “B” style of another phototype font: Prismania. Using its circular alternate characters for M, F, R, its appearance resembles the looks of Pump and ITC Bauhaus.
