A rock-and-roll compilation released in 1978 as part of the Recorded Anthology of American Music. This series was produced by New World Records with a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation, “with a mandate to produce a 100-disc anthology of American music encompassing the broadest possible spectrum of musical genres.” The original liner notes are available from New World Records.

Cover design by Elaine Sherer Cox, combining two typefaces by VGC; the bottom-heavy Litzenburg – similar to Village (PLINC) and Orbit (Facsimile Fonts/Lettergraphics), but with a fine contour – and the constructed Arpad. The cover art is Godzilla by Nicholas Krushenick.
