Branding for Surveillance Music, a Porto-based drum and bass label and promoter founded by the DJs and producers Fragz and Blast in 2019. The identity was designed by Ivan Alves:
The main idea for the branding revolves around the Orwellian vibe of the label name itself, Surveillance, almost like a higher institution is watching you. Just like The Big Brother from Orwell’s 1984 book, Surveillance Music is always with an eye on new and disruptive drum and bass music, not to censor it like the Big Brother, but instead to show it to the world.
The logotype uses custom-made industrial letterforms, with omitted vowels: SRVLNC. The brand typeface, Object Sans, is always used in all caps.
