Hi Hugo, great to see Armin Haab’s herbaceous letterforms from the 1960s in contemporary use! Did you create your own digitization? As far as I can tell, it’s not Dick Pape’s freebie named DXS Polly. Or is there another digital version that I’m not aware of?
I knew I wanted to use this font but before making this artwork. But then I had no idea what that typeface was called, I just ripped it off from Lettera 2 doing a quick digitalization (that still needs a few tweaks here and there tbh and maybe some punctuation).
Then I did some research about it, and it’s true there is Dick Pape’s font, but the shapes were kinda goofy, so I chose to keep using my own version of it.
Though it’s important to note that I modified the font’s height so it could fill up more space.
Thanks for the extra info, very nice. Yes, I noticed you modified the proportions – le Sea weed étroit! I’ve added the custom typeface digitizations tag. This Use is also in the select Lettera Set now.
