Costa Coffee, the UK’s largest coffee chain, and the second largest in the world (after Starbucks), has rebranded. They’ve followed the current trend to sans serif conformity by replacing their cosy Clarendons with a range of standard typefaces, including Brandon Grotesque, Gotham, and the condensed Trade Gothic. Manus is used to add that handmade touch.
The rebranding was by Our Design Agency. The management of the Costa Red colour was a top priority.
Costa Coffee was bought by Coca-Cola, another enthusiastic user of the colour red, earlier this year, for $5 billion.
