Herbert Bayer. Painter, Designer, Architect is the first monograph of Herbert Bayer. His body of work as artist, architect, exhibition and industrial designer is presented on 212 pages, featuring more than 200 color and black-and-white reproductions. The book was designed by Bayer himself and typeset by Graphic Arts Typographers, Inc. On the jacket and the cover, Bayer’s name is set in all-lowercase Univers. The secondary title “Visual Communication, Architecture, Painting” is in Akzidenz-Grotesk.
The English edition was published in 1967 by Reinhold Publishing Corp., New York, and Studio Vista Ltd., London. Otto Maier Verlag in Ravensburg made a German edition titled Herbert Bayer. Das Werk des Künstlers in Europa und USA. Visuelle Kommunikation, Architektur, Malerei.
