Another jacket design by Pat de Groot, another example of what appears to be her trademark feature: smaller caps. Just like in her cover design for another book by Reeve and the title page for a book by Tom Wolfe, uppercase letters were scaled down in relation to the lowercase.
This time it’s Craw Clarendon that gets this treatment. Like most Clarendons before Volta, this typeface didn’t come with italics. Here it’s paired with Century Expanded Italic, an efficient combination that we’ve seen before.
