Bryce Anderson website

Bryce Anderson is an Australian artist whose practice considers processes that involve image alteration across multiple disciplines where significance is embedded in the images’ adaptability.

Anderson’s website, designed by New Association, utilises TeX Gyre Schola of Donald E. Knuth’s TeX project. TeX Gyre Schola is based on URW Century Schoolbook L, which is a digitization of Century Schoolbook, originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1919. Schola serves as a replacement for the standard New Century Schoolbook font. Despite being almost optically identical to New Century Schoolbook, the distinction between Tex Gyre School and New Century Schoolbook is telling of Anderson’s art practice—one where representation, reproduction, appropriation and authorship are key themes. Anderson’s oeuvre often draws upon found imagery from textbooks and printed ephemera, reproducing and altering these images through digital and mechanical print processes, oil painting and collage.
