Innovative, avant-garde, visionary Ulf Moritz is known as a magician with fabrics, and anyone seeking the guiding principles of his textile creations over the last 30 years will find that change is his only constant. This cosmopolitan spirit, resident in Amsterdam but at home anywhere in the world, cannot be pinned down creatively: from copper wire to shrinking yarns, and scorched designs to laser cuts, his personal combination of highly technical skills and innovative uses of materials results in textiles with a special allure. Fascination permeates Ulf Moritz’ entire portfolio, which includes not only fabrics, but also carpets and wallpapers, interior decorations and architectural projects. Alongside the international textile editor Sahco Hesslein, who has been setting standards since 1986 with its exclusive ULF MORITZ by Sahco label, many other famous brands such as Danskina, Vorwerk, Marburg, Rosenthal or Interlübke can be found among the references of this exceptional creator. He refers to himself simply as an “industrial designer” and has for decades been designing products that find their way into international museums, from Amsterdam to New York. But above all, into interiors that reflect the individuality of their owners, who remain open-minded – to textile visions.
