Ut i verden is the Norwegian title of the second part of of Maxim Gorky’s autobiography, originally published in 1916 as В людях (English: In the World). Translated by Natalia Fredriksen, it was first published in 1948. This is the cover of the second volume of an edition published by Tiden Norsk Forlag in 1963. It was typeset and printed by J. Chr. Gundersen Boktrykkeri, Oslo.

Knud Lønø (1935–2019) designed the cover, using decorated caps from Orientalisches Alphabet. This alphabet with pictorial moments shows influences of architecture and patterns from the Middle East. It was conceived by Swiss graphic artist Emil Zbinden (1908–1991) and reproduced in the second volume of Lettera, first issued in 1961. Lønø made use of the alternate forms for the repeating letters.
