Reference Studios is a communications agency based in Berlin, with network offices in London, Paris and Milan. Our approach is purpose-built for today’s cross-platform environment, a terrain in which youth and luxury, brand and consumer, online and offline exist on one continuum. We operate under the philosophy that everything a brand does – from an advertising campaign to an underground party – must be thought of as a form of media.
Conceived in a minimalist approach, the website shows an interesting way to approach the portfolio case. The role of image and text is completely reversed for the benefit of typography. Osmose (Blaze Type) and Founders Grotesk (Klim Type Foundry) find a great opportunity to express their qualities.
Reference Berlin is “a 24-hour festival for creativity in the infinite present” that took place on May 18th, 2019.

I’d be curious to learn about the motivation to combine – and embed/load – two grotesks that are (relatively) similar.
