From IMDb:
Sex, violence, and bikers on an action filled ride, in this film produced and co-written by Jonathan Demme.
Angels Hard As They Come is an exploitation film released in 1971 by New World Pictures. Directed by Joe Viola, it starrs Scott Glenn, Charles Dierkop, Gilda Texter, James Iglehart, and Gary Busey. The poster illustration is by Joseph “Joe” Smith. I’m posting it for the typography, which features a rare appearance of Monza.
This typeface series by Lettergraphics appeared in an ad from 1966. It is shown in a 1968 catalog in five variants: Monza Casual (with lowercase), Monza Interlock, Monza Biform (with alternates for ‘AEIMNR’), Monza Small Caps, and Monza Smash (non-interlocking caps with bouncing baseline). The variant used here is Monza Interlock, which comes with many alternates. It is similar to Photo-Lettering’s Benguiat Newlock, but has less casual forms including an R and an S that are closer to European grotesks. Additional text is set in Impact and three condensed weights of Venus.

The type foundry Pink Broccoli can digitize the Monza font.
Florian, I bet the Pink Broccoli Type Foundry can digitize the Monza font.
Yes, you said so the other day, Aline. :) What am I supposed to do with this suggestion? If you want them to digitize Monza, write to Pink Broccoli (or to Astigmatic, the company that acquired the foundry).
The 5 font Monza family has been revived by Pink Broccoli as the 3 font Manco PB family. Elements of the Interlock and Biform originals are integrated as Opentype features.
Congrats on the release, Phil! It’s cool to have a digital revival of Monza. I’ve added Manco PB to the typeface database and linked to it from the page for Monza.
