Ninth issue of Die Epilog, a German magazine that deals with the change of our society. By looking into the small things that are changing in our everyday lives, it wants to explore and welcome the bigger shift around us.

How about your soft skills, darling? While social and political fronts are hardening Epilog No. 9 pays attention to the soft niches of today’s world and discovers tenderness not as a retreat but as a political strategy. We embrace the whole world, we call out for a meta-tenderness which transcends normie-romanticism and unpolitical hippie-shit and we find love in hopeless places.

This issue comes with a redesign, for which Tobias is picked for both the logo and as the new body typeface. It’s paired with Cardinal Short Italic for emphasis. The grotesque Kern gives a nice contrast to it while not being too edgy. To highlight the issue’s topic “Tenderness” the soft and light version of Pondre is used mainly for large headlines. And last but not least there is Blitz Script which breaks up the gray and gives a kind of personal love-letter-writing-touch to the whole thing.
