A book designed for a Bachelor thesis on photography, What lies beyond the surface?, written by Chelsey Honders.

No matter what the original visual of the object, playing with its physicality (in typography: font weights and hierarchy) has the possibility of creating new and original compositions which correlates with this paper’s research on the materiality of photography and its investigation into the influence on the conceptual outcome of the photographic work.

On top of that, it is no news that sans serif fonts often offer a modern, somewhat strict and universal playground for the content set in such typefaces, thus selecting Arial for this project comes from an idea of lending an objective and clean voice to the problem presented in the text of this book. Arial is a very neutral font, which is another reason why I chose it for the project: it doesn’t distract from the contents of the book.
