Cattanooga Cats is an animated television series from Hanna-Barbera Productions that aired on ABC from 1969–1971. It features a band of anthropomorphic cartoon cats who travel around in a van and play bubblegum pop music. This record was a marketing tie-in for the cartoon and includes songs from the show.

Released in 1969, the album’s design seems to be riding the wave of success from Lance Wyman’s multiline identity for the Olympic Games in Mexico City the year before. The typeface on the cover is nearly identical to the corresponding Mexico Olympic typeface, with the only notable deviation being in the top left of the N. The repetitive treatment of the type also mimics techniques used for the Olympics.
