Remember back in the 1970s when you’d watch shows such as Three on a Match and The $10,000 Pyramid? These were used to show the scores and the time remaining to guess a set number of words. Signaltron’s humble split-flap displays did the job, but were notorious for making quite a loud noise as they changed.
The numbers on each rotating panel were set in News Gothic Bold, and colored a bright neon yellow. The bright yellow text on a black background made it very easy to read, as you can see.
