Matthias Kronfuss Studio was commissioned to create the typographic concept for Prinzessin Hannibal, a children’s book by Melanie Laibl and Michael Roher. Playful and quirky drop caps, set in Oposta, complement Michael’s bold collage illustrations about a prince who’d rather be a princess. The geometric sans serif GT Walsheim is used for the text. The book was published by Luftschacht Verlag in 2017.

  1. Wonderful, creative, thoughtful integration of image and type. So complementary. Beautiful illustrations in beautiful and innovative compositions. Is this book available in English?

  2. Hi Michael, the publisher mentions that a second (German) edition came out in 2022, but no, I don’t think there’s an English edition, alas.
