A great dinner wine doesn’t have to be served at room temperature.

Baker Signet (1965?) in use for an ad by the Taylor Wine Company, Inc. from 1969. While the headline shows a bold weight, the tag line “We uncomplicate wine” uses a lighter one. The copy is set in two columns of Optima (1958).

  1. Side note: the Taylor logo used during this period was designed by Lippincott & Margulies (possibly the work of Raphael Boguslav) and debuted in March 1961. They kept this until after their highly publicized merger with The Coca-Cola Company in 1977, when they modified the wordmark the following year.
