This French record from 1973 features tracks by two bands: The Jokers (Belgium) and The Spotnicks (Sweden). Their names on the cover are set in Eurostile Bold Extended in lowercase, while the name of the album is shown in Stripes, an all-caps multiline typeface that had been released the same year. Stripes is used in a three-color combination, in a pattern that is similar to the one used for the cover of the Graphic Art Products Catalog by Letraset USA.

The cover was designed by Daniel Le Noury and Henri Heymans, with photography by Jean-Pierre Leloir.

  1. Another example of muticolored Stripes – thanks! It’s a pity that the setting is so small. Stripes is so rich in detail, it only really shines when used big. In this case, though, it looks as if the two cover designers couldn’t agree on whether to go with a photographic or a typographic focus.
