    “Burtonwood BIG taste!”

Various beermats by the Burtonwood Brewery in Burtonwood near Warrington, Cheshire, England, probably from around the late 1960s. Cooper Black Italic is paired with caps from the open Cooper Hilite. The big “BIG” in the first image is hand-drawn, see especially the counters in B or the flat serifs in I in comparison to the typeset versions below. In two cases, the word “taste” features a double-storey a. It’s not a slanted roman, though. I’m not aware of a version of Cooper Black to include this form.
