It appears that Alternate Gothic was stretched for the title, but as this was 1957 I’m not sure it could be mechanical. Anyone have insight? Just lettering?
Probably lettering. The construction is interesting—deep cuts in the bottoms of the letters, shallow cuts in the top, sort of a forced perspective trick, making it look even taller than it is.
