Before Halloween appeared on the cover of Groovin’ by The Young Rascals in 1967, it had already been chosen for another album by an American pop rock band. Do You Believe in Magic is the debut album The Lovin’ Spoonful. It was released in November 1965 on Kama Sutra Records. The album features the hits “Do You Believe in Magic” and “Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind?” which both made it into the Top Ten of the US charts. Cover design by Joel Tanner, with photography by Chuck Stewart.

In 1967, the typeface choice from the debut album was revived for a German single release featuring two songs from Everything Playing, “She Is Still a Mystery” and “Only Pretty, What a Pity”.  is paired with caps from . [More info on Discogs]
