G2 TGR Regular in the new brand identity for AÇO, a design studio based in Brazil.

Originally educated in the humanistic sciences the founders of AÇO – Will Cega and Alexandre Ruda – aim to visually position their design practise close to contemporary, research based, European, design and typography studios. AÇO design is not only formally differing from their scenes in São Paulo and Jaraguá do Sul, it embraces the idea of being a ‘designer’s syndicate’ by actively building a self-sustaining visual environment around themselves.

Tired of traditional typefaces for brand development in Brazil, fed up with the “need to be serious designers, assepthics and neutral” AÇO extend the idea of self-branding, playing with a variety of media and merchandise products a central aspect of their design – some sort of ‘serious mockery’.

G2 TGR Regular by our freshly founded European typelabel Gruppo Due suited both in attitude and looks – seeking for unorthodox new ways rather than sanctifying the traditions.
