Design Repository is a platform for publishing writings and conducting research initiatives on Arabic design. The website typography combines the beautiful 29LT Zarid Serif and 29LT Zarid Text by 29Letters with Helvetica.
Zarid is interestingly rooted in the famous Naskh script which is one of the most beautiful Arabic calligraphic styles. However, Zarid adds a contemporary spin on it with beautifully crafted nuances and details. We wanted to use something that would be rooted in tradition, but takes it to a different and contemporary place.
