Vizuální identity českých měst v číslech (“Visual identities of Czech cities in numbers” is the title of a publication made at UMPRUM Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, as part of the project “Vidět skrze čísla” / “Seeing through numbers”.
We’ve explored unified visual identities of Czech cities through various data. The aim of this research is to find out as much information as possible about the process of creating visual identities for cities in the Czech Republic. The main output of our search is a table containing data on 15 Czech cities. It’s mainly concerned with the price of a unified visual identity, how the contract was created etc.
We chose Neue Haas Grotesk because we wanted to create a publication with a raw feel. After all, all information in the book is just research and numbers. Neue Haas has that raw feel, especially when working just in black and white.
For the time being, the publication exists in digital form only. There are plans to do a printed version later. The entire book is available on Issuu.
