The Omoguru Reader, available as an app and as a browser extension, is designed to make text more readable, provide individual adjustments of font and text, and provide a set of tools that improve reading rhythm, focus, and speed. Its purpose is to provide comfortable reading experience to dyslexics and people with reading difficulties.
An integral part of the software designed for a comfortable reading experience is the selection of the typeface. Specific use cases required to have a custom solution for which Omotype Sans was designed by Marko Hrastovec. Designed to be visually comfortable, its properties had to help readers with decoding letters and words. In Omoguru Reader there are 120 different styles that enable required individual adjustents of font and text:
All letters are unified and without deformations which improve readability;
Fonts come in different weights and differently sized letter spaces;
Longer ascenders and descenders of the letters for distinguished word shape;
Letters that clearly define the text line, letter spacing, and spacing between words;
Uppercase letters are emphasized so it would be easier to differentiate them from other letters.
Within the OmoType typeface, similar shapes have been created with recognizable elements so it would be easier to differentiate them. Circular shapes are created to avoid symmetry, while letter endings are emphasized and extended.
Even though it is dyslexia-friendly, Omoguru Reader is designed to include everyone and exclude no one, providing a comfortable reading experience to all users.
