Stark Classic is a typeface in the tradition of Roman inscriptional letters (think Trajan), designed by Robert Stark. The all-caps design is shown in four weights in Photo-Lettering’s Alphabet Thesaurus, Vol. 2 from 1965, but was already used on the cover of Ray Anthony Plays For Dream Dancing, originally released in 1956. This copy is one of the many subsequent reissues—probably sometime in the early 1960s. The artwork is largely unchanged, with the exception of the “Capitol Full Dimensional Stero” line at the top, set in all-caps Venus breit fett.

Ray Anthony was born in 1922. He’s the last surviving member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
