    This Place is a German cosmetics brand that focuses on self care, and is attached to using simple and organic products. Where most brands nowadays use artificial and chemical products, This Place positions itself as a brand that offers natural ways of soothing oneself, notably by the use of organic CBD in their creams. They associate a scientific and natural approach in order to offer not only beauty products, but also a particular product experience.

    Their identity is as simple as their motto: hand drawn lines, colored abstract shapes and two types. The team of designers of YummyColours wanted to keep a handmade aesthetic in order to evoke the organic aspect of the products: the signature line was drawn with a wax crayon on a masonry surface and then digitized. Each product has its own particular linear shape, all shapes superimposed creating an abstract illustration used for introducing contents by the brand on social media. This principle is open to change and to the possible expansion of the brand: for each new product, another shape will be created and will modify the whole composition.

    The main type is Jazmín from Latino Type, an inscriptional sans designed by Eli Hernández. Its stroke contrast brings sensibility to a sans, which would otherwise be too sober to promote a brand that highlights sensitivity and the need to listen to one’s body and emotions. Jazmín is paired with Tuner from Production Type for all technical info (ingredients, uses, descriptions): its readability in small sizes make it ideal for this use. Surprisingly, while the whole discourse of the brand is focused on craft, Tuner’s designer Simon Renaud created it with the idea of coarse computer screens and vintage software. In this context, Tuner’s peculiarities such as the triangular A and v add a little twist to a linear listing of ingredients, and keep the idea of an original brand whose products aim at revealing its consumer’s singularity.
