From Studio Ejin Sha:

Wonder: A Story Exhibition is organised by Edward Ong as part of Gallery Weekend Kuala Lumpur (GWKL). The exhibition showcases various translation of the nursery rhyme we grew up with — “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. It is being written in the tone of haiku, blackout poetry, newspaper article, scrabble, star wars intro and more.

The small exhibition allowed visitors to enter the circle scroll and be surrounded by instances of the rhyme, or to orbit their childhood memories from the outside. The typographic star is Bintang, an adaptation of Sueh Li Tan’s Type and Media graduation project Callie Text with pointed serifs and starry tittles on i, j and punctuation marks.

The sans serif used for information about the exhibition is Berthold’s Akzidenz-Grotesk Extended. Writer Edward Wong organised the exhibition. The exhibition design is by Ejin Sha, assisted by David Ho from Fictionist Studio and Low Hsin Yin.

Typedesigner Sueh Li Tan is one of the speakers about Typography & Type Design in Malaysia at Typographics 2021. Fonts In Use is proud to be a media partner of the conference. See more work by speakers of the 2021 edition.
