Room Service is Roxette’s fifth studio album, the only one so far not to be out on vinyl. It was released “worldwide” but the hoopla had somewhat diminished after the grunge wave. There was a world tour planned but it was canceled after 9/11, so Roxette toured Europe instead.
The photos are shot by Jonas Åkerlund at the Madonna Inn in California. He also directed the “The Centre of the Heart” video from the album, and of course he designed the sleeve, together with Sarah Sheppard and Roxette. Funny how the Roxette shield on the front cover looks almost exactly like the Salvation Army one!
“Roxette” is set in Snell Roundhand; the album title uses Trade Gothic Bold Condensed No. 20 (stretched to 80%).
