Since the Corona lockdown that started on April 13, 2020, a hobby has turned into a business idea, to help people move safely through public spaces. The demand quickly became too big to continue sewing, designing, marketing and shipping all by myself. That’s why I joined forces with Martina Lips-Wiedemann, head of the St.Gallen couture training studio, to produce makeshift mouth and nose masks.
It turned out to be a wonderful collaboration and a meaningful division of labor. Our masks have now landed in many cities in Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and Austria.
The work done at Studio #@& included the design of the wordmark, the collab label, and a poster series for marketing the Fancy Facemask Factory. The selection of design elements and the message are part of the design process. Color, image and typeface – Whyte Inktrap – reflect the brand personality.
