Kalligraphia for the book jacket of the Casanova biography by J. Rives Childs, translated to the German by Deli Walter and published by Bertelsmann Club in 1977. Originally issued as foundry type around 1892, Kalligraphia was added to Letraset’s range of faces for dry transfer lettering sometime between 1976 and 1980.
The image is Johann Berka’s portrait of Casanova at the age of 62, used as frontispiece for the Icosaméron in 1788.
