Ahluwalia, by Priya Ahluwalia, is an award-winning fashion label that combines elements from the designer’s dual Indian-Nigerian heritage and London roots, using surplus clothing. The e-commerce website was born as both product selling tool and platform for the many creations of Priya: collaborative campaigns, books and films.

The images are protagonists on the pages, and use as much space as possible. In order to make use of the portrait format of much of the visual material and to showcase its variety, the screen is split in two to juxtapose content. The effect is bold and compelling, and the experience is kept consistent throughout the pages.⁣

The density of the visual material that populates the website is balanced by the white space where the text sits, and by the minimal menu. The typography is functional yet warm and employs LL Bradford by Lineto, designed by Laurenz Brunner. The font is used both as support for the image content and as bold graphic element, exploiting the variety of glyphs and alternates, and showcasing its robust construction and elegant shapes.⁣

  1. Thanks, Marco! Is the logo part of Salina’s design as well? For anyone interested in the font used for that, it appears to be based on Titania.

  2. Hello Florian,

Thanks for the info on the logotype.
This was done externally and prior to our work on the website.

    Best!
