“The Transformation of Silence into Language and Action” originated as a talk held by American writer, feminist, womanist, librarian, and civil rights activist Audre Lorde in 1977. The text draws from Lorde’s marginalized positionalities and experiences with breast cancer, and was published in Sinister Wisdom (1978), The Cancer Journals (1980), and the essay collection Sister Outsider (1984).

Graphic designer Marina Coll from Barcelona is currently studying at Elisava, Barcelona University School of Design and Engineering. As part of her Master’s degree in visual design, she made an editorial project based on Lorde’s essay. For the strong words and loud messages, she used big letters from various styles of Right Grotesk.
