A fine use of Bailey (Lettergraphics, circa 1966), for Bantam’s paperback edition of Desolation Angels.

Bailey is very similar to Graphic Biform as drawn by Vincent Pacella for Photo-Lettering sometime before 1965. While the PLINC font contains biform alternates, Bailey is lowercase only, with the exception of a single biform alternate for G. The Lettergraphics release is distinguished by longer extenders on g and t, as well as ascending forms for d j and k.

Among digital fonts, Ray Larabie’s Velvenda Megablack comes close. Other extratight options with hairline counters – but without biform features – include A2 Gothic X Condensed, Tusker Grotesk (maybe the 3800 Super), or Gothiks Compressed Black.
