A beautiful collaboration between Zhenya Rynzhuk and the GoDaddy Team to design a new website for tennis champion Naomi Osaka, using Lausanne (designed by Nizar Kazan) throughout. The condensed sans used for the “Naomi” logo is probably custom. The typeface used for setting Naomi Osaka’s name in Japanese (大坂 なおみ) is Noto Sans.
Named by Time magazine as one of the “100 Most Influential People” as well as “Sportsperson of the year” by Sports Illustrated, Naomi is a great example of a masterful tennis player with clear convictions and a multifaceted perspective aiming to inspire youth and fight social inequity. What’s more, she has also become the first tennis player to light the Olympic cauldron.
The goal of the project was to come up with a fresh perspective on how a modern website of a legendary sportsperson should look as well as to portray all Naomi’s achievements, collaborations, and social initiatives.

Naomi is just amazing! I love watching women’s tennis! When she broke on the scene, I was an Instant fan! She’s so humble and pleasant unlike most athletes these days! And her game does all her talking. She reminds me of Dr. J. He didn’t yell or shout or brag. But watching him left you in “awe!” Naomi is just like that. I am a fan now and until her career is over. I wish her the best in everything throughout her life! Her parents should be EXTREMELY proud of her. Continued success is everything! Hope to see her play in person in NY one day.
