Pearl Drop film titles

Pearl Drop is a film by Greta Kalva and Becca Murphy.

Loosely inspired by the Narcissus myth, two mystical beings descend into the darkness of unrequited love. The story unfolds through an eclectic audio-visual journey.

Being asked to help with titles for the film, we landed on something quite fairy-esque, but with a shiny and metallic effect used to contrast the feeling of muffled softness of the film.

Here Sinistre (Jules Durand) fits perfectly into the – at times grotesque – fairytale while being particularly suited for this purple chrome effect, having a good balance between softer and sharper.

The typeface is slightly stretched to feel more condensed and the stylistic alternates and ligatures are used to enhance the materiality of the chrome.
