Originally released in 2000, the club hit “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)” by Italian DJ and producer Spiller featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor was acquired last year by Defected Records, and is out now as a limited edition vinyl deluxe remix reissue.
This unique double vinyl pack comes in a full-colour gatefold sleeve with an augmented reality cover that will come to life once you scan the mask image on your phone. It’s accompanied by a four-page 12″×12″ insert written by Spiller detailing the full story of “Groovejet”; from the original production and early reactions to chart success and the new 2021/22 remixes.
The release features the original versions, new remixes by Purple Disco Machine, Riva Starr, Breakbot & Irfane, and Harvey Sutherland, plus a vinyl-exclusive instrumental remix by Harvey Sutherland.
The album and the newspaper article insert are set in IvyPresto. The masks were designed by the artist’s father, Giorgio Spiller, painted by Maurizio Celestino, and phoographed by James Mollison. Read more about the design process on Creative Review.
