Casa Brasil Coffees is an Austin based company that imports, roasts, and distributes Brazilian coffee in the USA. For its rebrand, the company needed an identity that could represent Brazil in a ‘premium’ way, avoiding the typical clichés that would make Brazilians frown but, at the same time, creating a ‘Brazilian’ image that would also be easily recognizable to its American customers.
From Mangueira’s traditional colors to curves inspired by Burle Marx’s architecture, the identity is filled with Brazilian references. The idea to use Brazilian references for every ingredient on the identity also applied to the typefaces in use, a pairing of Ofelia Display and Silva Text, both from Blackletra. The illustrations are by Thiago Neumann.
